The High Arcal School places significant importance on promoting high standards of attendance and punctuality and sets high standards for individuals and for the school as a whole. Students can only learn if they are attending school.
It is vital everyone in school, parents, and governors are fully involved in and aware of our attendance policy and of the very important role they all have to play in encouraging the high standards that we expect. It is the duty of all colleagues, parents and students to monitor attendance.
We have a dedicated team of administrative staff who have administrative responsibility for attendance. When difficulties arise the school will intervene to support students and parents to attempt to resolve any issues that may be hindering high levels of attendance, involving the EIS service where appropriate.
High attendance levels are rewarded and celebrated at The High Arcal School both for individuals, form groups and Houses. In order to receive an attendance flash, the attendance percentage must be achieved in an academic year.
Certificates for excellent attendance will also be given out to each student during presentation assembly.
